Once hooked to their usage, statistics reveal that consumers prefer the laptop. The only difference between a desktop computer and a laptop is the size. It's much more simple to lug a laptop around than a home computer, as technology is forever expanding on the idea concept of "small". The smaller, the better.
The silicon-miniaturized chip along with other electro-optical components are what have contributed to the popularity of the laptop, making it a technological breakthrough for worldwide communications.
This portability has become quite valuable to most business people. Such as teachers, scientists, researchers and so forth, that the majority of laptop owners would not venture without this state-of-the-art device. University and college students have also come to depend on their laptop notebooks as they are constantly on the go with their studies. Needed information is always available at their fingertips, as well as writing up their "thought concepts" whilst studying and learning.
With a growing trend of desktop computer users wanting that extra addition to compliment their regular PC, this has made it possible for the laptop computer to become much more affordable for the average consumer.
As competitive technology surmounts, desktop computer manufacturers have started to gradually replace the huge and bulky CRT-type monitors with crystal clear compact LCD screens. With this growing concept in mind, the laptop screen has become a beautifully-enhanced flat LCD device with a thickness of 12 layers. The latest laptops are now available with much larger screens than ever before.
The initial laptop screens of the past were measured at 11.5 inches. Today's newer laptops are more versatile with screens as large as 17-20 inches. These ultra-wide large screen-displays on laptops, permit the consumer to see a much larger representation of their work and data than was previously available. The wide-screen feature alone has increased a greater demand within the computer industry for laptops.
In today's travel industry, it's not hard to notice laptop computer users at airports accessing the internet and writing their business agendas, or sending emails to family and friends as they wait for their next flight connection. For travelers, the laptop has become a useful tool holding all the features which anyone could possibly need.
With the increasing popularity of the laptop, many desktop users have traded in their old computers for the greater laptop functionality and efficiency, as laptops have larger hard drives with faster processor speeds than most desktops. Weight, size and battery life are options consumers should first take into
consideration. The average weight can range from 4-7 lbs., with a battery life-span of up to two hours.
With technology on the uprise, most of the top laptop manufacturers such as Hewlett Packard, Toshiba and IBM - just to name a few - allow a consumer to custom order a laptop with the features of their choice, all nicely fitted together into a sleek and portable tool that one can take virtually anywhere one goes.
The world trends of technological communication have shifted radically within the last decade, with laptops surging in sales and becoming an indispensable commodity.
Whatever your needs in computing, it is worth the time to shop and search for a laptop where value will be rendered best.

Post a CommentI want a laptop real bad!
Good info. Been considering moving to a laptop lately for the main reason you mentioned, portability. I love my desktop, but there is so much I could do with a laptop. Imagine sitting in a park and writing fiction when the inspiration hits.
When I got my first laptop, I fought it all the way. Now I can't imagine doing without it.
I agree with the lady under me, except for the part about being an old granny. ;)
My laptop is old (6 years)and when I bought it I was the s**t. Now I am an old granny trying to fit in! Technology sucks!
