Compuwise Twitter Challenge Entry

This turned out to be quite the challenge for me. I'm not sure if that means I'm a good "tweeter" or not. Hopefully I am not just a twit. If it weren't for some pre-created signup lists made by other, more skilled users, I'm not sure if I would have had many followers at all. Less than half of those that I followed actually followed me. Besides the already made lists, I contacted folks directly and the results were generally positive but I could not find that many people who actually used the service already or that were willing to try even though they knew there was an AC challenge going on.
My posts or "tweets" of course mainly consisted of articles I wanted to bring attention to; some old and some new. In that respect I did have a higher overall PV for the month ( I started the challenge back in September).
A few of my favorite people or "tweeters" to follow were: sabahk , ruby3881, ThePlaceofMike Mike Spain, CrystalRay and many other familiars to me. Some, but not all of the ones I followed, followed me in return and that was fine.
Some of the things I found on the list actually lead me to other writing venues. None of which are as superb as Associated Content but they did offer some dividends.
So far I have mentioned only friends from Associated Content but I did have some friends from other networks follow me. Like one from Friendster and one or two from Facebook. It felt good to have those friends from different worlds so to speak following me in this somewhat unusual challenge.
As far as the people I followed and their tweets. They ranged from AC articles to the normal "hi, I'm having my first cup of coffee" to funny rants at relatives and the people in their daily lives. I mean mixing in a few plugs for AC articles did not seem to affect their tweeting routine.
In all it was a fun challenge although a little slow at times. I'm sure I didn't beat out Larry King or Ashton K. but I did have my eyes opened to the world that is Twitter. I feel I will continue to muddle through and see what other positive results I get from this amazing tool. The horizon looks bright for Associated Content and Twitter! http://twitter.com/compuwise
