The 2" Wet·Dry Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener. It has straightening pins to help straighten hair for silky smooth finish. The item heats up in 30 seconds and has 30 wet/dry setting options. The product has a heat maintaining system to allow a consist flow of heat for even results. It contains light up buttons to indicate if only heat or the wet to dry option is on. If the product is left on for too long, it has a safety auto shut off. The cord swivels and most of the time does not become tangled up. It includes an instructional guide and has a limited 2 year warranty.
Depending on how wavy/curly your hair is, the numbers will have to be adjusted for best results. I tried the wet to dry feature on medium length hair and got a steamy surprise. Be very careful with any wet to dry heating styling product as the stream on this item comes out on the sides near the hands. This resulted in an unpleasant experience. Also be sure to stay away from the corners of your ears. The tip of the item has finger grips and is cool to the touch. It may be more easy if a hair dryer is used to dry the hair before using the straightener. Using the wet to dry feature ended up taking more time than just blow drying first.
Overall the product does heat up quickly and maintain heat temperature. Hair was left undamaged and had a healthy shine. Do not suggest using a hair lightening product such as "Sun-In" as pressing the product into the hair strand with the straightener may end up causing hair to become fried. The Sun-In product suggests heat can speed up the lightening process but a blow dryer is a better option. It may be a good idea to use a product that can be applied before heat styling occurs such as Alberto VO5 Detangle and Shine to help protect hair. This product was purchased at Wal*Mart at the cost of $38.00 at the time. You can also purchased the item online on Conair's official website by logging onto:
