Conan O'Brien's Ratings Clash with Critics, Seth Rogen Proposes to Lauren Miller and Nancy O'Dell Replaces Mary Hart on 'ET'

Welcome Back, Conan! Sort Of....

Conan O'Brien made his network comeback on TBS Monday night and, surprisingly, the numbers seem to clash with the criticism the show has received. The ratings were stupendous--4.2 million overall viewers, as opposed to Letterman's 3.4 million and Leno's 3.3 million. However, the critics don't seem to be as happy to have Conan back on late night television as the general populace.

According to E!Online, Movieline called the show "disappointing." USA Today advised O'Brien to stop using his "'making the best of it' self-pity pose" as it wasn't attractive anymore, especially when the response to his NBC departure was basically the same show. For now, the fans are still watching and embracing Conan's return. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks.

Seth Rogen Proposes to Girlfriend Lauren Miller

Let's face it. There is no way that Seth Rogen, the king of awkward, would propose to his girlfriend normally. I don't think the stars are aligned that way. That's why it's no surprise to find out that when Rogen went to pop the question to girlfriend and Superbad actress Lauren Miller, he had to do his best to improvise when he ran into a slight problem--Miller was in the midst of changing and was topless.

Though it sounds like a scene from the latest Judd Apatow flick, Rogen reported to Conan O'Brien on his new show Monday that it all worked out. . .despite the awkwardness.

"I had already kind of started [to propose]. . .I didn't picture it like this, and I know she didn't picture it like this."

Here's to many happy, awkward years to both of you!

Nancy O'Dell Replaces Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight

Entertainment Tonight is going to look a little different after next year. Mary Hart, the co-anchor of the show, is turning over her post to Emmy Award-winning entertainment journalist Nancy O'Dell. O'Dell served as co-anchor of Access Hollywood for 13 years and has 20 years of TV experience, though that doesn't trump Hart's 30-year stint at ET.

The President of CBS Television Distribution, John Nogawski, likely echoed the thoughts of fans of the show when he said, "Mary Hart and ET have been synonymous practically since its inception, which makes it hard to believe we will be saying goodbye to her at the end of the season.

No doubt O'Dell, who was recently recruited by Oprah to host the show Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search For The Next TV Star, will do her best to fill these big shoes.
