Condoleezaa Rice Urges Pakistan to Put More Effort to Stop Terrorism

US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice said that Pakistan should put more effort to refrain Taliban terrorists from attacking Afghanistan from its territory.

In a meeting with reporters at Perth in Australia, she told that Taliban terrorists are operating attacks to Afghanistan from semi-autonomous tribal area of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan.

She also said that movement in this region is very difficult due to its geographical adversity but Taliban militants cannot be allowed to organizing themselves in that region taking advantage of the geographical adversity of this region.

This strong message came to Pakistan by Condoleezza Rice just a week before Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is scheduled to meet with President Bush at the White House.

Although Pakistani government insisted continuously that, they are not allowing terrorist to use their territory for attacks.

Pakistan strongly opposed the suggestions to deploy foreign forces in this region for combating terrorism. Pakistan Prime minister is seeking a peace deal with terrorists through tribal leaders of the area.

Condoleezza Rice got strong support from Australian foreign minister Stephen Smith who described this area "the current international hotbed of terrorism"

According to Australian minister, this issue cannot be a bilateral matter between Pakistan and Afghanistan because threat posed by terrorist hiding in this area is too great to leave Afghanistan and Pakistan to deal with alone.

Australia has currently 1,000 troops in Afghanistan; it is the largest deployment of forces by any country in Afghanistan outside the NATO alliance.
