Confessions of a Problogger Wannabe

Are You a Problogger Wannabe?

Marie M. Daniels
That's right, I have a dream of being a Problogger. What's not to love about being a blogger who makes a full-time income and only actually works for a few hours a day?

I have tried a few times to start blogs with the hope that it would turn into the next Shoe Money blog. Unfortunately I grew tired of not having any traffic and no comments or very few readers and followers. Those small beginnings just didn't match up to my big blogging goals, like the goals I had for my make money online blog.

Who wouldn't believe that they could make six figures blogging, when all of the problogger guru's have been telling us that all along? I am sure that you have seen those full page ad's selling some program that will surely make you a rich jerk and a millionaire. Those ads that have been written by copywriters who know how to suck in the desperate people who want to ditch their boss and learn how to make money online.

So these poor wannabe's buy the program and make the problogger richer and learn a little bit about blogging but not enough to make full-time salary. Most of the probloggers neglect to tell their readers that it took them 3 to 5 years to make money from their blog. Many of them didn't even make any money in their first year of blogging. Now, not all probloggers are unscrupulous. There are some such as Yaro Starak that will tell you the truth and pretty much exactly how he became a problogger.

For me, what it comes down to is... I like to write and I love the freedom of blogging even more. What I don't like however, is the time it takes to become a problogger. If just blogging were enough, many people who blog 365 days a year would all be probloggers. That is not how having a successful blog works though. There are many other things that a blogger must know to have success. Things such as key words, knowing how to monetize a blog, gaining back links and more.

If you are a Problogger wannabe good luck. Stop buying every get rich quick scam that you see. Stay focused and set your blogging goals and stick to them.
