Confessions of a Toddler Mom

Esper_D
Being the mom to a toddler means chasing a little one a fraction of your size as he says "no" laughing and running away. It means waking up in the morning to little kisses and the sounds of "Mama, Mama". And the sounds of "Mama, Mama" never leave his little lips throughout the day. You go to the bathroom and he's outside of it saying "Mama!" Or you cook up a meal and he is clinging to your leg saying "Mama". Then, as soon as you say "What?" he just laughs at you. He wants to be near you every minute.

But the minute you want him to come to you to put on his shoes, he runs away, going in circles, dancing and laughing. Or I remove his diaper for a change and he runs away, naked and singing. Having a toddler keeps me on my toes and can be both exhausting and challenging. Then on the other end you know how much this little guy loves and adores you and how much you love and adore them in return. Toddlerhood is a funny time for both mom and child.

Sometimes he comes up with the funniest things or does the cutest little things that make you want to share with all your family and friends. It's a time for children to explore the world around them, learn new words and actions and make up some of their own. It is also a time you realize how smart they are as they pick up so much in so little time. They copy those around them and live in a blissful world. Oh the life of a toddler! It must be a blast to be him and I'm glad I get to be the parent!

Soooooooo true. Just wait until you become a grandma....it is so much sweeter to be the object of their love and NOT be the one that has to answer every call.

    This is so true.
