Confessions of a Toddler Mom

Linda StCyr
Being the mom of 2 kids who have gone through the stages of infant, toddler and now small children I have to confess that it was not all it was cracked up to be, especially when it came to the toddler years. Here are my confessions of a toddler mom:

I confess that toddlers are gross. Often they are found with snot dripping out of their noses, dirt stuck in places it shouldn't be and pick at butts, noses and ears without a thought to who is looking. They are gross.

I confess that my toddlers were not angels although I may have pretended to outsiders that they were. I was fully aware of what little devils they were/are.

I confess that I may at one time have been the mom that said "It couldn't have been my son."

I confess that I have spanked my toddlers on more than one occasion before calming myself down and acting like a rational human being.

I confess that I have yelled at my toddlers in a loud mean voice and probably will do so again even though they are older.

I confess that toddlers will throw temper tantrums whenever they do not get their way.

I confess that I love my kids more everyday.

I confess that when my kids cry or are upset that a piece of my heart breaks to see them sad.

I confess that every night I hug my kids, kiss them goodnight and pray to the gods and angels to watch over them as they sleep.

These are just a few of the confessions of a toddler mom that I am willing to share with you. There may be more but I will hold them in my heart for now.
