Confidence and Dating: How to Improve Your Confidence and Make it Your Sexiest Accessory

Chances are many people will tell you that confidence ranks high among the qualities they most want in a person. When you are confident, it shines though and others can feel it which can attract people to you. If you want to improve your confidence for yourself and for your love life, a few tips can help make it your sexiest accessory.

Be Around People That Make You Feel Good

Anyone you're around should make you feel fantastic. These people shouldn't put you down, but instead, compliment you, share in your successes and be there for you when you need support. The old "sticks and stones" saying isn't necessarily true. Words can pick you up and knock you down, so surround yourself with people that make you feel good about yourself. This is incredibly important in regards to someone you're dating. If the person doesn't make you feel wonderful, move onto someone else.

Change Your Lighting

Have you ever looked into a mirror and almost fell over from how bad you seemed to look? It could be the lighting. Florescent lighting can make your under eye circles visible, your hair appear dull and your skin seem pale. If you have this lighting at home, this will do nothing for your confidence, especially in the bathroom and bedroom. Switch to a soft light which could provide more flattering effects.

Change Something Simple

Changing one thing about yourself can create a huge boost in confidence. Getting a haircut and style change can make you feel and look quite different. You can also have a makeup artist update your look by introducing you to products and colors that are perfect for your skin tone and features. Consider doing this on a day when you have a date or you're going out for fun with friends; your confidence will overflow.

Work on Something Big

Almost everyone has something they want to do in life that requires a lot of time, effort or money, sometimes all three. If it requires money, open a separate bank account and start saving even a few dollars a week. For something that requires time and effort, such as going back to school, start the process and put the plans into motion. Even working on big plans little by little can make you feel much more confident.

Buy New Underwear

Confidence comes from the inside and radiates out so your underwear is just another layer in between that should look just as great as the clothes you show to the world. Underwear can make you feel sexy but, after you wear certain pieces often enough, they may lose their effect. Purchase a few new pieces of underwear that you love, that you'll look amazing in and that will help increase your confidence.

Do At Least One Small Gesture a Day

Doing something good for someone else can make you feel amazing. Many gestures cost little to no money but could have a big impact on the recipient. Consider babysitting so a couple can have date night, drop off food for a sick friend or donate goods to a charity. Being unselfish and compassionate, in addition to having confidence, are incredibly sexy qualities.

Concentrate on the Good

Chances are you have a lot of good things going for you that are so overshadowed by the negativity that you almost forgot about them. Remember and think about them on a daily basis. When you think of the things about yourself that you can improve, don't look at them as negative traits or things that are "bad", look at them as things that, with work, are in the process of getting better. No one is perfect and everyone has things about themselves that they don't like, it's just a matter of what we do to improve them that counts.

Instead of relying on themselves, some people constantly get their confidence from the person they're dating. Although the person you're dating is supposed to make you feel good, the major source of confidence needs to come from within. When you acknowledge the good in yourself, it will cause others to see the good in you as well.
