Confindence

Confidence. It's all about confidence. This dip (maybe freefall) in the economy was triggered by the dysfunctional politics in Washington. If the freely elected government doesn't work what does? If Europe invents a cooperative economy but will not sustain it, what is the message? Will the Germans finally conquer Europe by foreclosure?

Good questions. Are there any answers? If the government would function might be good. Everyone is waiting for the next election but their are no answers there. The answswer is functionality. We all know the political pitches and the politicos know the reality but refuse to act upon the practicality.

If America does not establish leadership, the world is doomed. This leadership is based on good governerment. The cooperation of industry, the restraint of grasping markets, reinvestment in growth and mutual input. The conversation should be 'how do we grow together'?

Given the greatest public presuure the government must give and at least make an effort. Business will never learn how to react because they are not designed for the greater good. Government should let the people run free and watch the bad actors. Teddy did it and he was a Republican.

It is sad to see the most selfish, unimaginative and odious group of Americans gain purchase in government. The Rebublicans defend the wealthy and corporate interests, everyone knows this. The 'Tea Party' extends selfishness beyond comprehension. It is embarrassing to see neighbors loudly railing for a few dollars over the benefit of the country.

Conservatives need to redefine their philosophy. How did we get from Lincoln and Teddy to a 'Tea Party'? Argument should be a conversation not an impass. America is just learning it's generous nature. All the remnants of racism, expansion, rape and reclaimation remain but our better angels have emerged and we must let them fly. My Grandmother called her servants 'niggers' with affection now our society denigrates everything for what? A dollar?

It's all so simple. I hate to see things go so bad.
