ConFlix is Set to Take Over the Las Vegas Music Scene
Flixtape Vol. 3: Return of the King Pre Release Review
Over the last eight weeks, ConFlix has been preparing for something big. His precisely planned rise to the forefront of the local music scene is starting to take shape, and everything is going according to plan. For those of us who have been following his every move, his silent coup comes as no surprise. He started by distributing 1,000 copies of a local newsletter called The Fix, and building a website dedicated to local underground artists.
As ConFlix and Sho Nuf began to expand, they started interviewing local arists for a TV show that is in the works with Cox Communications. The duo also have a magazine planned to be released in August. Without a doubt, ConFlix's single, biggest, success is his weekly radio show, Sin City Radio Live, which reaches over 1,000 people per week.
Internet Buzz
In just three months, ConFlix has managed to accumulate over 5,000 friends on MySpace, most of which were already familiar with his music. Although its hard to judge actual fans from people who are just adding friends, ConFlix is confident that he can eventually turn everyone into a fan. In just a few short weeks, he has gone from a virtually unknown Las Vegas rapper, to the man you need to talk to about getting your music heard on the Internet.
His Internet radio show doesn't command a huge listener base, but it is growing with every show. The strange thing is that he isn't hogging the spotlight for himself. His show has grown very fast because he brings other underground artists on the show, and lets them get their shine on, and in return, he builds his listener base. The old addage is true, that you have to give in order to receive.
Flixtape Vol. 3: The Pre-Release
Since ConFlix made the announcement in April, that he would be releasing Flixtape Vol. 3: Return Of The King, he has been bombarded with emails asking for a release date. Well, the wait is almost over. Flixtape Vol. 3: Return Of The King will be released on September 23, 2008. For those of us who have been waiting since April, September is still a long way down the road.
For those of us who are anticipating the release, ConFlix has posted the Pre-Release version of the album for free download (click here) to anyone that wants it. All you have to do is visit his MySpace profile and read the blog. There are also extras inside the zipped file, including wall paper and a message to the fans which includes a 50% on Flixtape Vol. 3: Return Of The King.
The Pre-Release version includes five full length tracks that will not disappoint any listeners. A few of the tracks can by heard on ConFlix's MySpace profile, but there are two tracks that are not for download on his page. The Intro is on point and keeps you wanting more. If The Intro is any indication to what the rest of the album is going to sound like, then we are in for one hot summer.
Don't worry, there are no spoilers coming from this direction. You should definitely check out Flixtape Vol. 3: The Pre-Release, it will be well worth your time and you will not be disappointed.
