Confusion

Abby Normal
When one person's thinking
has an abstract tone
I may not understand it
It's best to leave me alone

I know what I heard
is not what was said
I can't take it any longer
I want to go back to bed

I may come around
to your way of thinking
It may happen on its own
or with the aid of heavy drinking

When the clouds lift
and the sun comes out
I will again wonder
what the confusion was about

If those smaller rocks
can hold up that boulder
I have hope I'll understand you
as we grow older
