Congo Bars

Mary Wensing Dvorachek
4 eggs (slightly beaten)
1 pound brown sugar
2/3 c. shortening

Cream the eggs, brown sugar and shortening together.

Then add

1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 3/4 c. flour

Stir in by hand 3/4 to 1 cup chocolate chips.
Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch cake pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Check with toothpick
to see if it is done.
