Congress and Government Actions

Always a Day Late and a Dollar Short for the People

Debra Paulsen
I cannot possibly be the only one that is totally irritated with Congress and the Government's administrative efforts to assist the everyday blue collar hardworking Americans through the economic mess we are in. A disaster that was created by the elite rich, the banking system, and the monopolistic powers that be. A mass of powerful companies that under the Sherman Anti Trust Act Never should have been allowed to conglomerate to the mass they have to begin with. Everyone caused this economic disaster except the everyday Joe who is paying for it (Who congressmen love to claim they are friends with).

On Monday may 18th The news reported there was new aid coming to homeowners who could not get refinanced. You know from those banks that received all the bailout monies? Yes those grand institutions which have taken house and money, and give nothing back. SO if you cannot get refinanced (Even though a decent re-fi would make you stable, solvent and productive), Now the Government says it is Working diligently to allow you to GIVE YOUR HOUSE TO THE BANK! You heard me. Oh yes, they say the benefit will be that it will not reflect poorly on that all important Credit Score. Some incentive, how many of you folks are overextended? Late on a card or two, because the mortgage comes first? Hey you can give up the home you worked so hard to keep and join the renters of America and take your chances there ( Anyone want to guess how high rents will go after everything is bank and government owned?). Okay so line up if you want to give away your house. That was in my opinion a slap in the face as I said when I wrote to the WhiteHouse Monday morning.

Turn the other cheek now folks!
Everyone with a credit card knows that over the past two months it has been a mad dash by card companies to max out what they can get out of us. ALL card members have seen rates double, and in some cases triple. All card members have seen reductions in their line of credit. Even though you have never made a late payment. Even though you are no where near your limit. We saw this happen across the board as noted for two months now. Some credit card companies are pushing 29% . Hey Congress has got your back (NOT). Now, after the damage is done (How much higher can the companies go beyond 29 freaking % for crying out loud), Congress is again working diligently, and quickly to see that credit card companies from now on must notify you in advance of planned changes. Oh and get this, they are going to set future limits on rates that can be charged. Yeah, okay, would have been nice if card companies as noted didn't already boost the rates outrageously.
Sounds like collusion between congress and the stock market to me.

They tell their buddies raise this, do this to make all you can because next month we're making changes so we can look like we are listening to American Citizens.
