Congress Unemployment Benefits Decision Could Be Monumental

Chris Houston
A Congress Unemployment Benefits decision could be monumental. A vote of no to the unemployment benefits extension could deny many without jobs benefits. A "yes" vote by Congress would extend benefits for the majority of 2010. As of 7:15 CST on Friday, no decision has been made by Congress. There are little if any stories on the internet detailing what Congress has talked about on Monday.

If you are searching for a Congress Unemployment Benefits decision, you most likely are one of the many workers without a job. You also could be one of the many unemployed workers who are waiting in the wings for what could be a very important Congressional decision. Will the Congress decision include a yes or no?
Many Americans are hinging on the hopes that a smooth transition will take place if they have already exhausted one of the first three tiers of unemployment. There apparently will be no Tier 5 added regardless of what Congress does decide.

What has happened so far leading up to a potential Congress unemployment decision? The House has passed a bill that would extend unemployment benefits until November. Now the fate of the unemployment benefits extension lies in the hands of Congress.

Congress is just now reconvening after 10 days off thanks to the holiday. Now they will have to battle the issue and figure out a source of funding before any decision can be made. Is there a possibility a Congress decision could include a short term fix until a longer term solution can be figured out? That's certainly a possibility as many jobless Americans await the Congress decision.

I feel it is not right for them to do this. There are many people who cannot find a job, plenty of people need this benefit to pay bills, get vehicles fixed in order to try to find a job. I am someone who is currently unemployed yet searching.

I have been approved EUC benefits until July, 2011, and why am I subject to this decision. It is unfair, and how do you expect me to me to live pay bills, food and paid my mortgage. The Republic party does not understand the hardship to poor have to face, because they have never live without financially! I need, and many millions of Americans need their unemployed to survive. Crime has just begun a you have created more of a problem now than ever. This is unlawful. Please release my unemployment money so my family and I can survive!

I was laid off in july of 09 and did not start getting my unemployment until Jan of 2010 I suppose to atleast get it up until Nov of 2010, I have only been getting until June when they decided to stop my unemployment. I have not even got a year of unemployment yet and I do not think that is fair to me because I should be getting it for atleast a year compose to others who has already got their years worth. I have no job and fighting everyday out there to seek employment. Why would you stop my unemployment now when I am not even asking for a extension all I want is my fair share for atleast until Nov 2010, because I know that I will get me a job. Please do not cut me off now. Thanks Paula J Crumbley

In Florida we only get 1200.00 a month and that includes the 100.00 from the Feds., but it doesn't matter since we have all run out of benefits and there's not much hope that our govenment will do anything to help us. Good luck to all and God bless

I've been out of work since november 09, I live and worked in Vegas where the unemployment is now at 13%. There are no jobs here. If people are out of work who can afford a trip to "Fabulous Las Vegas"????? Casinos are going bankrupt layoffs are constant. What are we suppose to do? Loose our homes? I went to welfare and was given $16.00 per month in food stamps..big help there. I dont understand why the American people are constantly put through this, but they somehow find money to help other countries. It's time to take care of their own and forget about being "Big Brother" to everyone else!!!!!!!!!!!

I just don't understand why there would be any question at all on whether to extend or not. I mean common sense will tell you that when unemployment is rising there is a need for an extension because companies are closing which causes less and less jobs for the ones already unemployed. This circle has got to stop somewhere, and why was it ever, ever allowed for these top banks to give out these amazing bonuses in the first place.

I am with Andrea, my husband and I have 5 children and he is working but we can't make it on his salary alone. I have negatives in the bank and now we all have to just sit a wait on congress. Tell my bill collectors that and watch the reaction that you get from them. LOL

When congress wasn't getting pd. they worked around the clock to do whatever it took to get their money. All of the Americans on UC need this. My situation both of us are in college after we lost our jobs,we have 4 children and need every penny like most of the people on UC.They are making it impossible to live at this point. They are sitting cozy while the Americans have to sit and wait for them, they should have never went on that long of a vacation.
