Connect the Dating Dots: Jude Law

Connect the dots of Jude Law's love life and the result is a picture more closely resembling a kindergarten child's scribbling than a straight line. As the British actor dallies and dabbles in numerous relationships, his behavior seems to reflect other traits of immaturity as well.

If recently published reports are correct, the 37-year old is once again on track with his on-again, off-again paramour Sienna Miller. But that's the (current) end, let's trace back to the beginning with the only woman to have gotten Law to the altar - at least as of this writing.

Sadie Frost 1995 - 2003

By far the longest continuous relationship for Law on this list, Frost and Law met while making the film "Shopping" in which she also appeared. Almost two weeks to the day after divorcing first husband Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet's former lead guitarist and songwriter), Frost married the seven years younger Law on September 2, 1997. In addition to Frost and Kemp's son Finlay, the duo raised three children together - Rafferty, Iris, and Rudy.

Sienna Miller 2003 - 2005

Miller met the affable (and married) Law when they worked together on the remake of "Alfie" in 2003. A year-long relationship resulted in an engagement on Christmas Day 2004. About.com quoted Miller in an interview as saying, "He also has the charm and the charisma, which Alfie had to have in order to make him as magnetic and in order for woman to fall for him as they did." Perhaps she should have considered that these similar characteristics could lead to similar behaviors.

Daisy Wright 2005

Wright, nanny to Law's children with Frost, was the infamous "other" woman cavorting with Law during the time he was professing his love for Miller. This short-lived entanglement was exposed around July 2005 and resulted in Miller ending their engagement .

Sienna Miller 2006

Law publicly apologized for his fling with the nanny, according to People. Soon after, it appeared Miller was once again making an upward ascent on the relationship rollercoaster. Unfortunately, the car headed back south in December of 2006.

Kim Hersov 2007

On April 19, 2007, People officially confirmed Law's attachment to American Kim Hersov. The editor-at-large for Harper's Bazaar in Britain and mother of two had met Law a couple of months earlier, according to a friend of the actor, the website reported.

After a romantic holiday in India, Law's publicist announced the couple had split by the end of May of the same year, according to Fametastic.

Cameron Diaz 2007

The two were perfectly paired in the romantic comedy "The Holiday" and soon off-screen rumors were abuzz. Hollywoodscoop reported at the time that a "source close to Jude said, "Jude plans to take her on a series of dinner dates this week and just spend some time hanging out. Cameron and Jude really bonded while working together but now that friendship has turned to romance."

Susan Hoecke 2007

Right Celebrity boldly proclaimed in August 2007, that "Susan Hoecke is Jude Law's New Girlfriend." Considering the cavalier way Law appears to use the moniker, I don't know if I would have been as happy as the then-26-year old model and former Miss Berlin seemed to be in a photo of the couple that the site posted with its story.

Lily Cole 2008

In July of 2008, London's Daily Mail was reporting Law had chalked up another conquest: Cole, a 20-year old model. After a sighting at a Radiohead concert, and her emergence from Law's apartment the following afternoon, rumors ignited over the possibility of a blossoming May-September romance. But, despite a deluge of reports on that singular outing, not much else seems to have come of the dalliance.

Norah Jones 2008

In November 2009, Jones recalled three-days of kissing scenes with Law on My Blueberry Nights as a "surreal experience" in the Daily Mail. The daughter of Ravi Shankar and a Grammy winner (Come Away With Me), Jones made her movie debut opposite the real-life lothario. While she makes Law's list on Who's Dated Who as a "relationship" and the duo were snapped together arriving at the Cannes Film Festival in support of My Blueberry Nights, I seriously doubt the existence of a romantic off-screen relationship. Kimberly Stewart 2008

In May of 2008, The Sun posted photos claimed to have been shot by partiers at 195 Nightclub in Essex. (Security for Law purportedly deleted the photos, but they were later recovered.) A wholly recognizable Law is lip-locked with the then 28-year old daughter of rocker Rod.

Samantha Burke 2008

According to IMDB, Law met model Samantha Burke outside a New York nightclub while filming Sherlock Holmes. The affair was brief, but the relationship is destined for a much longer duration. After they split, Burke discovered she was pregnant. Daughter Sophia was born on September 22, 2009. Law was granted twice yearly visitation with the child in February of this year.

Sienna Miller 2009 -2010

Claiming to be just friends, People reported the Thanksgiving Day reunion of Miller and Law late last year. As recently as February, the pair was spotted spending time in London, including an outing with Law's parents, according to Just Jared.

While I consider myself a hopeless romantic, I think Miller, along with any other potential Law lovers, should heed words of wisdom from Maya Angelou, oft quoted by Oprah Winfrey on her television show, "When people show you who they are, believe them, the first time."
