Connecticut Fundraisers to Benefit Haiti: Boxing, Silent Auctions, Talent & Art Show, Concerts, More

As survivors of the earthquake in Haiti struggle to recover, help continues to pour into the region. Through several national and local fundraisers, providing aide to Haiti remains an ongoing effort. Here in Connecticut, there are several upcoming events aimed at raising money for the devastated country. Come out and show your support for the people of Haiti.

January 29, 2010

There will be a silent auction at, Yale's School of Art. The auction is currently underway and will continue until Feb. 8, 2010. The daily hours for the auction, are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. bidding may also be done on the Yale School of Art website.

RF Youth Boxing will hold a boxing exhibition at 6:30 p.m., at Revolution Fitness, 860 Canal Street, Stamford, CT 06902.

A Talent Show will be held at the Westhill Auditorium, 125 Roxbury Rd Stamford, CT 06902. The show runs from 7-10 p.m., and tickets are $5.

HeART for HAITI is an artist fundraiser taking place at Rockwell Fairfield, 1630 Post Rd Fairfield, CT 06824 from 6 to 9 p.m.

HeART for Haiti artist fundraiser continues at Rockwell Fairfield, 1630 Post Rd. Fairfield, CT 060824, from 12-3 p.m.

A concert for Haiti takes place at the Fairfield Theatre Company Stage One, 70 Sanford St. Fairfield, CT 06824. Artist scheduled to appear, Debbie Davies, Rick Reyes-Cosmic Jibaros, Scott White, Derik and the Funbags, and Jay Stollman.

Red Rock Tavern, 369 Capitol Ave in Hartford will hold a pasta dinner with entertainment. The event runs from 2-8 PM, and costs $20.

The Urban League of Greater Hartford will hold a fundraiser at two venues, Seafood on Main, and the CT Science Center. Festivities at Seafood on Main, begin at 9 PM. Tickets are $10 at the door, and $3 if you have a ticket from, the CT Science Center. Artist Super Joe will perform.

At 4PM, St Paul's Church will have a benefit event at, 802 Bantam Road in Bantam, CT. The event will feature, artist Joseph Firecrow.

To date, over 150,000 Haitians have been buried. As the days pass, the number of dead will continue to rise. While the outpouring of money and donations continue, we must not let up. It will take years for Haiti to emerge from the rubble. Much has been done for the country, but this is just the beginning, the journey ahead will be a long one.
