This hidden gem has locations in Hartford, Avon, Guilford and Middletown. They offer some of the finest Italian food as well as a comfortable atmosphere.
I took my husband and another couple to their Hartford location one Friday night in the middle of the dinner rush hour. We waited about forty minutes (well worth the wait!) and were seated by a very friendly hostess. It took less than a minute for our waitress to appear with a basket of delicious bread and asking for our drink order.
The dining hall was buzzing with an array of different types of people from couples, to families, to large dinner parties. The walls were lined with pictures of past visitors- including Connecticut's governor! The seating was comfortable; however, some of the tables were a little close to each other.
Our waitress hurried back with our drinks and was eager to take our order. My husband and I decided to enjoy one of their specialty white pizzas while our friends ordered Seafood Cioppinoand Chicken Parmesan. Our food came within fifteen minutes and it was absolutely delicious!
The portions were huge! The Seafood Cioppino contained more than enough shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams-which most restaurants don't give enough of! The Chicken Parmesan had perfectly melted cheese and ample pasta on the side. The pizza was a bit smaller than we expected, but it was delicious. The tomato sauce was thick and the mozzarella was juicy.
Although the price tag is a little steep, it is well worth all of the money! If you are exhausted with national chains it is time to take a visit down to the First & Last Tavern. It is perfect place for every family to enjoy a tasty meal!
They also offer a bakery and a full catering menu! You can check them out at http://www.firstandlasttavern.com/
