You wore the mark of a modern day conqueror
Born with a strength seemingly undaunted
You jumped obstacles with athletic agility
Stood fast in the midst of each storm
Channeled passion with a gentle touch
Nurtured those you loved with the utmost care
Your roots were like that of a sturdy oak tree
Anchored as the ship you thought would come in
At times I thought you were invincible
Until the day when I was reminded
That you were only human
As are we all

What beautiful words !!!...Gosh...I totally love this one Darlene !!!
I really love this one.
I read this poem three times to get the sense of it. At first, it made me think of William the Conqueror, until I read it two more times. Good job, Darlene. I love the photo. It reminded me of castles from home.

Beautiful....Touching me personally...no matter how much i try to make the world better and help the people in my life, i must remember that i am only human. Saying that, reminds me that sometimes we just can't do it all. Thank you personally for the inspiration and guidance you put into me today.
I love it...great poem and nice photo!
