After six long weeks of trial and a mere ten hours of jury deliberation, the long-awaited Conrad Murray verdict is in! Dr. Conrad Murray is the physician charged with involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of his patient, Michael Jackson. Jackson's autopsy shows the pop star died by manner of homicide related to an overdose of the anesthetic Propofol, with other medications possibly contributing to his death.
Conrad Murray Verdict Is In: Dr. Murray Guilty Of Manslaughter In MJ Death
Dr. Conrad Murray was responsible for administering the drugs found in Jackson's system, and for monitoring his patient closely when under their influence. The latter is something prosecutors said Murray recklessly failed to do. Murray's defense team insisted that Jackson administered the fatal dose of Propofol himself, and Murray had no way of knowing his patient was in danger. In this case, the jury agreed with the state.

Between Murray's often unprofessional and seemingly unethical conduct, questionable CPR efforts and failure to call 911 immediately upon finding his patient unresponsive, it seems a small wonder the jury found Murray guilty. Though his defense team did their best to convince the jury that Murray was not responsible for Jackson's death, it was painfully obvious to anyone paying attention that the only person more dangerous to Michael Jackson than Michael Jackson in 2009 was Conrad Murray. Now, Murray will be held accountable for his actions and inactions, and those who mourn Michael Jackson may be able to find some closure.
Hopefully, the fact that a guilty verdict has been reached and Murray has been convicted means Michael Jackson's family, children, friends and fans can rest a little easier. Dr. Murray's conviction also thankfully means it is unlikely he will be able to practice his quack medicine on anyone else's loved one.
