Construction paper decoration crafts are great for Valentine's Day. Construction paper is cheap and easy to use. This article will provide you with detailed instructions on creating construction paper decoration crafts for Valentine's Day.

Heart Wreath

A heart wreath is easy and fun to make. For this craft you will need red, pink and purple construction paper. You will also need scissors, glue, a pencil, a piece of cardboard, and a plate or large bowl. Start by laying the plate on the cardboard. Use the pencil to trace the edge. Cut the circle out of the cardboard.

Then fold the circle in half and cut a smaller circle out of the inside. This will make the base of your wreath. Then cut the red construction paper into four even squares. Cut the purple construction paper into 6 even squares. Cut the pink construction paper into 8 even squares. Fold each square in half.

Cut hearts out of each piece of paper by drawing a J shape on the folded edge. Cut along the pencil mark. When the paper is unfolded, you will have a beautiful heart. Repeat this process with all of the pieces of construction paper.

When you have all of the hearts cut out use them to decorate your wreath. Start by gluing the largest hearts to the cardboard in even spaces. Then follow with the red hearts. Finally finish your Valentine's Day wreath by adding the pink hearts. This construction paper wreath makes a great Valentine's Day decoration for your home.

Heart Chain

Another fun and easy decoration you can make from construction paper is a heart chain. This Valentine's Day decoration will look great anywhere in your home. For this craft you will need red and pink construction paper, glue, scissors, and a pencil or pen.

Start by folding the paper in half length wise. This will give you a long rectangle. Use the scissors to cut one inch strips from the paper. Start cutting from the folded edge to make sure the strips come out evenly. When you have cut several strips you can create the hearts.

Start by curling the ends of the strips around a pencil. Make sure to curl both ends inward to make a heart shape. Repeat this with all the strips. Then use the glue to secure the red hearts. Add a drop of glue to the curled ends of the paper where they touch in the center of the heart. Allow the glue to dry.

Assemble the chain by connecting two red hearts with a pink heart. Glue the pink hearts together. You may like to use a bobby pin to hold the pink hearts together as they dry. This decoration will look lovely in your home for Valentine's Day.

Creating Valentine's Day decorations is a great way to add that special touch to your home for the holidays.
