Consumer Queen: A Blog Review and Ways to Save Money

The Consumer Queen Blog is a Great Source for Saving Money, but What Else Can You Do to Save?

Forrest W. Kobayashi
The Consumer Queen, well known for her authoritative blog on saving money, was on The Today Show today to discuss money saving tips. Her blog is primarily aimed at helping people to save money with several tips and ways to shop. The Consumer Queen blog includes product reviews, deals and coupons, contests, and many other articles to help the everyday American save.

In today's economy, saving money is more important than ever. Money is not as accessible as it was several years ago, and people are looking for ways to live great, healthy lifestyles without needing to shell out as much dough. The Consumer Queen blog is one of the tools that an American can use for advice.

Here are a few of my tips for bargain seekers.

Shop online as much as possible for comparison shopping.

The internet has completely revolutionized shopping as a whole. One of the best things about the internet for bargain seekers is that there are several sites to assist the consumer in price comparison. Being able to compare prices from several stores from one location is an immense help to saving money in today's society. Since our country is generally strapped for time, the internet can be a massive time saver when going bargain hunting.

Another reason to shop online: product reviews!

A second big reason to bargain-seek on the internet is for the product reviews. A product review-even just one-can mean the difference between a quality product and a shoddy product. Consumer Queen has several product reviews on the blog.

For bargain seekers, it is important to know that the item you could potentially be saving on is an actual quality product to begin with. Almost all store websites use some sort of product review system, allowing for bargain seekers to compare products to figure out which one is the best overall value.

When it comes to bargain hunting, value is the key word. If you buy a cheap product that ends up breaking or becoming defective in short time, you'll end up paying more in the long run. Be selective in the bargains that you take up, and use product reviews as a basis for going about your shopping.

Check out auction websites.

Sites like eBay are immensely helpful in finding great bargains and deals. It was said that "one person's trash is another person's treasure." You never know what you'll be able to find on eBay, or any other website for that matter. Many items are sold for less than their original price, getting you a quality item at a great value.

The reviews aspect comes back into play here as well. Research the website to find the best, most reputable sellers who have some great deals.

One thing to watch out for with auction based websites such as eBay is compulsive shopping. The thrill of winning an auction and receiving an item that you have been wanting (especially if you win it at a bargain) may persuade you to keep bidding and buying items that you do not necessarily need. Be careful that you do not fall into that trap.
