Consumer Review of XM Xpress Satellite Radio

XM Xpress Satellite Radio: Quality Radio and Service

Daisy May
The XM Xpress satellite radio is the perfect companion for your car or truck. With the XM Xpress radio, digital quality entertainment comes straight to you at less than the price of a cd per month. The XM Xpress radio is remote and directly controlled, compact and versatile, and comes packaged with the hardware that is needed to install the radio. However, it is the pure convenience of having coast to coast coverage, and all of the best music and top hits at the tip of my fingers that makes the XM Xpress satellite radio such a bargain.

The satellite radio works through a built-in FM modulator transmits XM radio to your vehicle's FM radio. This means that the XM transmissions will play through your vehicle's radio system. Sound adjustments are made to the vehicle's radio, not to the Xpress radio; however, all other functions are made through the XM Xpress satellite radio.

XM satellite radio service is entertainment fit for a king and priced at $12.95 per month. XM satellite radio digitally delivers popular and accurate music, news, live concerts and more on over 170 channels. There is a little something for everyone with the Christian, Rock, Country Jazz and many other music channels. I was amazed at the amount of choice available. And I am sure that someone out there will be ecstatic to receive the Broadway or Cinemagic channels, even if I wasn't.

XM satellite radio's specialized channels for news, sports and talk shows is full of celebrities, entertainment and real world news that you can use. There are fourteen news channels, twenty-one traffic and weather channels, fourteen talk channels and three comedy channels to fulfill whatever need you have. Whether you prefer Oprah and Friends or The Ellen Degeneres Show, you will get the programming that you want.

The XM satellite radio service includes the Best Sports Package which includes thirty-nine sports channels and over five thousand live sporting events such as Nascar. With the XM sports package, you will receive popular channels like ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Radio and Home Ice without any extra charge. It is most definitely better than reading the final scores in tomorrow's sport page.

The XM Xpress satellite radio costs less than thirty-five dollars. It is compact, lightweight and portable. The high-contrast backlit screen has a five line display that tells the artist, song title, channel and time. It is gray, has several push buttons and a turn knob. The turn knob grants access to channels quicker than the remote does. Since the radio is removable, it is easy to secure it against thieves and vandals.

The radio can hold thirty preset channels in memory, along with twenty artist and song titles in the tune preset. This tune preset list can be used to promptly turn to the specified song as long as it is playing somewhere within the XM satellite radio programming. The radio also can optionally display a stock ticker, sports score ticker and more.

With the purchase of additional accessory kits, the Xpress radio can go from car to home, and from a boom box to a personal portable kit. Although I haven't checked on the prices yet, I'm reasonably sure that the cost wouldn't be set too high as both the radio and the service are reasonably priced.
