Consumer Warning - Craig Electronics

Warning About Customer Service and Product

In the market for a MP3 player? Sometimes it is best to go with a well known product, verses trying to save the almighty dollar by purchasing a cheaper version.

I had found a sales flyer advertising a 1 Gig MP3 player, "Two Day Sale, get it while you can!" I was duped! I had always wanted a MP3 player, so I figured this was a great time to get one.

I purchased the MP3 from Craig Electronics, model number CMP615D. While this little gadget was fun and innovative at first , it quickly went downhill from there.

I downloaded around 30 songs and the product was working great. Fast forward to ONE WEEK later, and I couldn't get the MP3 player to turn on. It would power up, and then get stuck on a screen that showed an hour glass (you know, the dreaded hour glass that we all have grown to hate while waiting for our high tech gadgets to process the given commands).

I found a contact email address for Craig Electronics and sent off an email asking for a refund. The email was pretty much answered immediately. I thought, "wow this is great!". Then I read the email.

I was told to send a check for $15 to cover shipping and handling.

I shot off another email, outlining again the request I had sent, asking for a refund. I also pointed out that I knew I would have to pay for shipping to return the product, however I didn't find it necessary to send in $15 for the company to mail me a refund check.

The only response I got after that was telling me simply return the product to the retailer where I had purchased the product.

I do not see how companies like this can stay in business. How can a company release a product for consumers to purchase, then demand MORE money when the product is defective?

The lesson here is to stick with the companies that are well known and stand behind their products. My hope for all of you is to avoid the headache and hassle that I went through, while throwing my money away.

My sister bought both of my children an MP3 player model number CMP616F for christmas. My sons still works but my daughters only worked for about a day. She is only 9 and very upset that her brother can listen to his but she can not. I email the company and I got absolutly no response from them. I did not ask for a refund. I just asked if there was anything I could do to help the problem. NO RESPONSE. Now not only is my sister out of the money she spent but my daughter has no music player to listen to while her brother has one. I would not recommend anyone to buy one of these items anywhere.

Yesterday my dad bought me one and today it's already broken, the screen just completely stopped working! I'm so mad, not just because I'm out an Mp3 player but because my dad isn't the richest man in the world and he thought it would be the best present ever so he spent his hard earned money on it and I was so happy to get it and I feel so bad that he wasted all that money on it. CRAIG SUCKS!

I bought a Craig Digital TV converter at a CVS Pharmacy in November 2009. It Played alright until just after the elections, then started hanging up. Now, it doesn't work at all. I opened it up, and it had a Samsung circuit board, The TV that it was hooked up to is nearly 20 years old and still works, and the batteries in the converter remote are still good as new, but the converter box is a piece of crap. This is BS.

I just called customer service and got Jose he was very helpful. He really cares about the consumers so maybe that is who we should ask to speak with. Company should give him a raise.

I used a broken Craig MP3 player for anal sex and perforated my colon with it. I had to go to hospital to have it removed and they sewed my butt up with catgut. The doctor called me a weirdo.

I have contacted Craig Electronics for the last week because my TV Converter box CVD508 will not switch over from Radio to TV. I have unplugged the unit several times and overnight and it will not reboot....I get no TV Channels. Every time I turn it on the PURE AUDIO comes on and I get stations 63-67 audio only. I have called them to explain the problem, Ms. Brown states she's a Tech but she cannot help me with the problem and answers the phone as a operator. I have asked her several times to get a tech on the line so I can explain the problem. She wants to sell me another unit for $30.00. I sent a email to: service@craigelectronics.com, no one has contacted me. I called today to speak to the VP or President of the company, she transfer me to Oscar R, I got the voice mail. I gave a message with my phone number.....NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK. I suggest everyone contact the Better Business Bureau and complain about the lack of Customer Service at this company.. In the past
