Contemplations; VI:

(of Tortures)

Contemplations; VI:
(of Tortures)

A constant grey,
chill, wet, breeds
another day of contemplation.

This day's thought?
Torture.

Torture; not the memory
of what could, what might
have been.
Torture; not the unending
hunger for what might,
what could, be - but is not.
Torture; not a poem
in each inhalation, exhalation;
in each thought
and each non-thought.

Torture; a mind tuned
to compose distracted
by the daily living.
Torture; a written soul caught
by non-writing thought -
and another grey,
chill, wet,
which breeds one more
day of contemplation.

    Thank you my friend - I was afraid this piece sounded "arrogant" somehow.

    Potent and intense. Raw and expressive. Thoughtful and unique. Favorites lines: Torture; not a poem
    in each inhalation, exhalation;
    in each thought
    and each non-thought.
