Description of Contessa Orange Chicken

Contessa Orange Chicken is a meal in a bag that you find in the freezer section of your grocery store. It comes with a packet of tempura-coated chicken pieces, a packet of sauce, a packet of white rice and some vegetables. I paid $6.29 for a 24-oz package.

The package states "Green Cuisine" and there is an explanation on the back of the package which states that Contessa Orange Chicken Green Cuisine comes from "the first green frozen-food manufacturing plant in the world." The certified green plant that produces Contessa Orange Chicken reduces its energy use and carbon dioxide emissions by more than 65% daily.

Preparation of Contessa Orange Chicken

I found that preparing Contessa Orange Chicken is very quick and easy. When making this meal on the stove top, all you have to do is saute the chicken in some oil for a few minutes, add the vegetables and saute those for a few minutes, add the sauce and heat for another minute. In the meantime, you open the pouch of rice, put it in a separate small pot, add a little bit of water and heat for a few minutes. It's that quick and easy.

Taste of Contessa Orange Chicken

My fiance and I really love the taste of the Contessa Orange Chicken and we can't get enough of this meal. I serve it with an egg roll on the side and we enjoy it so much. It is very tasty and we could eat it at least once per week.

Final Analysis of Contessa Orange Chicken

I ended up trying this meal by chance. I normally cook my own meals but we needed something in a pinch one day and my fiance picked this up. When I found out how much it cost, I didn't plan to have it again.

Although I really love the taste of Contessa Orange Chicken, I feel that the portion size is on the small side for the price. I always add extra frozen vegetables to this meal to stretch it out and make a bigger portion so that we have enough. I also like to have added vegetables for health reasons.

But after we tried it and enjoyed it so much, we have decided that we will have it once in a while because it is that good and it's so easy to make. It's great for those days when you need dinner in a hurry and you just don't feel like cooking.
