The first natural treatment is to get involved in yoga. Yoga is one of the best exercises you can do to relieve stress and tension. One of the best poses in yoga to do to control arrhythmia is called the "dead pose." To do this, lie on your back, put your arms by your sides, and with your palms facing up breath normal and easily, keeping your attention on your breath. Practice this pose for 5 minutes a day, especially when you feel stressed, to help naturally control arrhythmia.
Magnesium helps relax the heart and control arrhythmia naturally. Not enough magnesium can cause your heart to flutter but getting enough is just what the doctor ordered and will keep your heart calm and beating normally. Take 250 mgs of magnesium four times a day or 500 mgs twice a day with food. Keep taking this dose for a couple of months, and then lower the dose to 500-800 mgs a day. Be sure the supplement contains elemental magnesium.
The herb, hawthorn, can help control arrhythmia by taking 80 to 300 mgs of the herb twice a day. Check with your doctor before taking hawthorn and be sure the herb contains the flowers and leaves, not the berries. Taurine helps calm nerves, thus, controlling arrhythmia. Take 500 to 1000 mgs twice a day between meals. A couple of other herbs that are good for calming are Kava Kava and Passionflower. Both of these herbs calm the sympathetic nervous system, which controls the "fight or flight" response. For kava kava, take 200 mg or 40 drops of tincture three times a day and for passionflower, take 250 to 500 mgs or 40 drops of tincture three times a day. Continue taking both until your arrhythmia is under control.
Coenzyme Q10 is great for controlling the nervous system and stabilizing cells. It's a natural boost to cells and the body. CoQ10 helps control skipped heartbeats caused by arrhythmia by producing energy in the cells and stabilizing them. Take 120 to 240 mgs a day of CoQ10 or Q-gel, which is the most effective type of CoQ10 and easily absorbed.
