Control Freak

"Laying down the desire to control others will cause us to pick up valuable strength in other areas of our own life."-Ruby Fleurcius

My friend, taking authority when necessary is not the same as being a control freak. A control freak is a person who has a hard time acknowledging the good in themselves as well as others and they are not happy if they are not calling the shots, so to speak. Their most dominant goal is to find a non-rebellious weaker vessel that will cater to or provide an added benefit to them. Now, if or when rebellion occurs, control freaks will try to beat that person down mentally, physically or emotionally by using destructive criticism.

A control freak is the key contributor in creating low self-esteem in others to cover up the self-esteem issues within themselves. Actually, they have a great fear of being exposed or becoming too vulnerable, so they use "CONTROL" as a way of protecting themselves; which causes them to worry more than the average person. Furthermore, they are so caught up in manipulating others that they do not realize that they are causing people, places and things to elude them.

Control is not strength and strength is not control. We are designed to exercise control over our own lives and to positively guide the lives of others without becoming too judgmental. Just remember, no one is perfect but we can make improvements daily to become interdependent, leaving a positive impression that will last a lifetime.

My friend, if you are dealing with a control freak or if you are the control freak, never engage in a power struggle, stay calm and speak in the positive at all times while allowing the people, places and things around you to be free. This will help you to build up the strong and the weak alike. Lastly, my friend, the greatest strength you could ever have is the ability to release the desire to control and to become sensitive to the needs of those around you.

Prayer: Father, I am releasing my desire to control the people, places and things around me. Lord, help me to become strong where I am weak to ensure that I am able maximize my strong areas to benefit the lives of other. Today, my goal is to allow others to be who they are as I leave a positive impression that will last them a lifetime. In Jesus name. Amen.
