A user asked:
"
Current setup is CM3.1 8500 with SCC stack. I want to swap to G650s. Before changing cabinet types can I leave everything in slots 2 through 14 programmed? Or do I need to xport all stations and pull out ds1's etc.
"
My suggestion:
"
To change a cabinet type in Communication Manager software you must remove all cards and the translations on those cards. You can't leave anything in or you won't be able to run the "change cabinet 1" command successfully. If you have access to ProVision this can be done easily and most of the stations will be able to be changed with ASA using an import or find and replace function too.
"
This is common with an upgrade; you must always remove all the ports and translations pertaining to any cabinets you are changing or upgrading to a newer model.
