So, What is this cookie diet?
The Cookie diet is a simple one. You just eat some cookies that you need to buy from his own company and a "reasonable"dinner. Dr. Siegal cookie diet web site says that this program is basically a 1000 daily caloric intake. Now, If you ask me, of course you will lose weight if you eat only 1000 calories a day. You will probably get the same effect if you eat a well-balance 1000 calorie diet consisting of plenty of vegetables and reasonable amounts of proteins and carbohydrates.
The cookie diet, my personal experience
A few years ago, I tried the cookie diet. After all, I have had weight issues all of my live (I am still overweight). I have tried everything, and of course I lost weight with the cookie diet.
The problem with all these crash diets is that they all work for a short period of time. I can not remember the exact amount of weight I lost but I did lose weight and it was enough to say that the cookie diet works. But the sad part is that I did regain the weight back once I stopped following the cookie diet.
So what you should do?
If you wan to try a "new" (the cookie die tis not new, it has been around for more than 30 years), simple fad diet then the cookie diet is for you. It is simple because you just buy a monthly supply of cookies (or cookies and shkes and soups) specially formulated to lose weight (we really do not know what do those cookies and shakes/soups have) and forget it. You just follow the instructions on the package (eat so many cookies, drink so many shakes or soups, etc) and voilä you lose weight.
Is that simple, and if you stick to it you will lose weight as I did, because if you were eating 3000 calories a day and all of sudden you eat 1000, you will lose weight! But as I said before, I am not sure if it is the famous cookies are the ones that makes you lose weight. I have had the same weight loss eating only rice, or only protein diets. I guess is your decision but Hey always ask your doctor before starting any new weight loss system.
