A Few Tips for Any Cookie Recipe
A Few Tips for Any Cookie Recipe
- Always preheat the oven. This ensures the cookies come out with the correct consistency. Otherwise, the bottoms may be overcooked, the tops undercooked, and the middles mushy. Not good.
- Measure! Don't guess on amounts you mix in. Recipes are based on EXACT measurements, so if you want those results, use that amount of ingredients. If you want something different, go ahead and experiment!
- Soften butter to make sure that the mix is blended. If you don't, some cookies will get less, some will get more (and they will taste COMPLETELY different).
- Don't cook on hot baking sheets. Cool them between batches by running them under cold water (and drying them, of course!). This also prevents the bottom from cooking before the top has a chance.
- Store cookies in an air-tight container to prevent them from drying out. Air tight containers include resealable storage bags.
