Make Ahead Dough Mix
8 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1/4 cup baking powder
4 tsp salt

Mix the dry ingredients together in a mixing bow. Cut in the shortening until it is well blended and incorporated. Seal in an airtight container and use within 2 weeks.
Here are some cookie recipes to try using the mix.

1/8 tsp ground cardamom
2 eggs, beaten
3 Tbsp whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Candied Gumdrop Sweets
Use the orange, cherry, lime or other flavor candied gumdrops. Do not use the black licorice flavored gumdrops as these will overpower the light flavor of the drop cookies.
3 cups Make Ahead Dough Mix
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup chopped assorted candied gumdrops
2 eggs, beaten
3 Tbsp whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Stir the dry ingredients together. Toss the chopped gumdrops with the dry ingredients to keep the gumdrops separated. Mix the eggs, milk and vanilla extract together and stir into the bowl. Mix until everything is mixed well, then drop by teaspoons onto a baking sheet and bake at 375 for about 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned and cooked. Transfer to a cooling rack.
