Denver Art Museum - This is a great family or couple outing. The Denver Art Museum is beautiful and a cool hangout for the hot summer days. The price is 10.00 per adult and $3.00 for children. On the first Saturday of each month it is free to visit the museum which is even better. They also have areas where kids can actually sit down and make art if they feel inspired by all the beauty around them. They also traveling exhibits that come through that are usually amazing.
16th Street Mall - This is a very cool outside mall that spans several city blocks. There is street food, great shops, and also restaurants. Cheesecake Factory and Rock Bottom Brewery are just a few that line this mall. Coyote Ugly is also in the shopping center, as well as a large movie theater. You can walk it all for free and in the summer watch the concerts every weekend for free as well. This is a wonderful trip for families or also for some good hand holding time with your loved one.
Denver Zoo - This zoo is an all day even and is right next to the Denver Nature and Science Museum with Observatory. The price for the zoo is $12.00 a person and $7.00 for kids and oh so worth it. They have rides for kids as well as some great gift shops and over six hours worth of entertainment for the family. They keep adding to the exhibits making them more interactive which just adds to the excitement for the kids. They also have several special exhibits that are exciting to experience, they have a building dedicated to the rainforest and the animals in it. They also have free days listed on the Denver Zoo website so you can get in without paying a dime!
Denver Botanic Gardens - This is a must see if in Denver, not only do you have the beautiful plants and flowers but your children can actually be involved in planting them. Its 10.50 per person to visit and 6.00 for kids. They have concerts in these gardens as well as dinners, and festivals. For kids they have story time in the midst of all the outside beauty. They also have full day classes for kids and families allow children to bring home projects and create their own mark on the Gardens.
Denver Museum of Nature and Science - This beautiful museum has animal exhibits, geology, dinosaurs, and a planetarium. They host the IMAX film festival annually, and have an interactive area for kids. They also have their own restaurant inside. It is 11.00 dollars for adults and 6.00 for kids to go into the museum, or 16.00 for adults and 10.00 for kids who want to experience the museum and the planetarium.
While in Denver there are so many exciting things to enjoy with your family without breaking the bank and still having a good time.
