Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunt games are one of the coolest and funnest girl slumber party games of 2010. First, you will need to find out from your daughter the different hip things that she and her friends like for your scavenger hunt list. This could be a picture of their current favorite singer, DVDs, CDs, foods, school supplies, gift cards, money, nail polish or anything your imagination can come up with.
Make the same list on two separate pieces of paper for each team. Next, divide the girls into two groups with one adult per group. Have the girls and one adult on each team, and for the next ten minutes, go around the neighborhood (including neighbor's homes) for these items. The team to find the most items will win.
Pajama Gift Exchange
Having a pajama gift exchange is another cool girl slumber party game for 2010, and the girls really love this one. When sending out the invitations, ask each girl to bring a new pair of pajamas that are wrapped in gift wrap. Before the girls get ready to change into their pajamas, have them each pick a number that is folded up in a piece of paper.
You should have one number for each wrapped present. Next, the girl who has #1 will go first. Ask her to pick a present of her choice. After she opens the present, she shouldn't get too comfortable with the choice, because the girl who has #2 will pick next. She will have the opportunity to keep her gift or exchange it with girl #1. This will be the same with the girl who has #3, who will have a choice to keep her pajamas or trade with girl #1 or #2. Continue until all presents are open. You can also make a rule where the pajamas can only be traded twice.
Cookie Decorating Contest
Girls love cookies, and a cool girl slumber party game for 2010 is having a cookie decorating contest with sugar cookies, cookie paint and sugar sprinkles. You can either buy plain sugar cookies or make them yourselves. Cookie paint kits can also be bought, or there are many different types of homemade, cookie paint recipes that you can find online to make your own cookie frosting using food coloring.
Have each girl secretly vote for the best cookie (excluding their own) to see who wins. Don't reveal who had the fewest votes, just the winner. At the end of the contest, they all get to eat their own cookie, of course.
Jewelry Making Contest
Jewelry making contests are another cool girl slumber party game for 2010. Visit your local arts and crafts store and buy different types of crystal beads, wood beads and jewelry wire. The girls will have fun making bracelets and necklaces. Have them parade their creations, and have each girl vote secretly for the best piece of jewelry (excluding their own) to see who wins. Once again, make sure to only reveal the winner so you do not hurt a girl's feelings.
Picture Charades
Playing picture charades is a cool girl slumber party activity for 2010, especially when you use the current celebrities that the girls love. Separate into two groups and have your charade picks folded on a piece of paper for each team to choose from. If you don't have an easel with large, white paper, you can either tape some paper on a wall or glass sliding door or just use paper on a tabletop.
Toss a coin to see which team goes first. For five minutes, each person from each team will take turns drawing a picture of the word that is written on the piece of paper. If the team goes under the five minutes, the time they took is their score. If they do not guess the word within five minutes, they will get a zero score for that round, and the word is revealed. Play as many equal rounds as you would like. The girl's team with the least amount of minutes for all the rounds will win.
Girls' slumber party games can be a lot of fun to plan and prepare. These are the coolest slumber party games for 2010 that girls of all ages will love.
