Coolestshop.com: A Little-Known Place for Big Name Fashion

M. Maiero
There's a great fashion dealer on the Internet, and its name is Coolestshop.com. Although the concept of what is the 'coolest' can often be disputable, this online vendor has managed to remain on top of the fashion trends that shape today's fashion world.

First of all, the company always keeps shipping included in the prices of the items, so there's no charges tacked on the end of the orders. What you see is what you get.

And there's so much to see! The site features a plethora of brand names, including Adidas, 4You, BC Ethic, Livity, Penguin, Le Tigre, and Obey. Not only does Coolestshop.com carry the latest, most exclusive releases, it also holds onto older items. By doing so, the online store maintains variety while documenting clothing lines' past releases. It's interesting just to see clothes from three or four years ago, let alone buy them.

Probably one of the best aspects of Coolestshop.com's selection is its collection of shoes. There are some real rarities there, and I'd be downright dishonest if I didn't mention that Adidas' Micropacer (in the silver colorway) can be found there for only $145 (including shipping, of course)-easily the most competitive price on the Internet, including Ebay.

Yet it's more than just clothing at Coolestshop.com. There are also some very interesting toys, books, prints, and jewelry. Coolestshop.com is one of the main vendors [that I know of] of original Shepard Fairey (the artist behind the Obey phenomenology) prints. Although they are not cheap, within time some of the rarer pieces could prove to be assets for art collectors… or anyone whom considers themselves the 'coolest.'

What do I consider the 'coolest' attribute of Coolestshop.com? I would have to say its section called "Shoezilla," which can be found within the shoes section. It is a collection of rare vintage shoes in pristine condition, organized by common US men's sizes (10.5-13). Not only can someone buy funky old Nike Dunks there, they can sell them as well! Of course this is not cheap, but for sneakerphiles such as myself, the site provides a gateway to a historical collection of footwear oddities.
For those who aren't interested in buying anything, the site is definitely worth checking out for its blog. Found under the URL http://coolestblog.blogs.com/coolestblog/, the blog is a great resource for all the latest projects in the underground fashion world and can be really quite entertaining. "The coolest blog on earth" is written with a unique stylistic casualness and offers insights regarding artists (including musical artists, such as the Beastie Boys), technology, future clothing releases, and, of course, sneakers.

So if you are curious as to what is going on in the world of fashion, or if you just want to gaze at some beautiful pieces of apparel, check out www.coolestshop.com. Just make sure to keep it a secret from your kids (if you have them), because they'll either catch onto your secret-you have somewhat exclusive access to rare clothing-or they'll just steal your credit card.
