The program awards a free central air conditioning system to a deserving member of the community each month from May to August. Atlanta has opened cooling centers at three Neighborhood Centers. The centers, Dunbar Neighborhood Center, Georgia Hill Neighborhood Center and Birdine Neighborhood Center, are open from 8 am to 9 pm, and offer air conditioned seating areas.
Atlanta Swimming Pools' Hot News from Atlanta
The hot news from Atlanta for kids is that some Atlanta swimming pools offer free admission during selected hours on weekdays. They are Piedmont Park Pool, from 3 pm to 5 pm; Chastain Park Pool, from 10 am to 12:30 pm; and Grant Park Pool, from 1:30 pm to 4 pm.
