Copious amounts of beer and meat... it must be Oktoberfest!
Fette Sau has the right stuff to fill you up. Celebrate Oktoberfest right with their beer and meat

However, October means one things for us beer drinkers. That's right, the epic German tradition of Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is generally used by the American public as an excuse to get ragingly drunk and blame it on the festival (remind you of St. Patrick's Day much?). But that's just my cranky old man opinion. The beer is the star of Oktoberfest, and if you are looking for a place to check out a smattering of great beer selections, I suggest heading over to Fette Sau on Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn.
Now, Fette Sau is generally known as a BBQ place (and rightfully so -- their is meat good), but they also have some great beers to complement their 'que. They have stouts, lagers, ryes and many others; each will remind you that Oktoberfest is about dark beer and lots of meat.
I personally recommend the Chelsea Gotham Stout. It will put hair on your chest and go perfectly with that pound of brisket you will inevitably succumb to eating.
The seating is all homey picnic tables, so feel free to badger the guy sitting next to you when he fails to put finish off his pork shoulder or his growler of beer.
I am prepared to gain 10 pounds for Oktoberfest. Fette Sau will point me in the right direction with that goal.
