If you're frequenting Fort Greene Park, you may want to bring a police escort with you. Cops are now more readily visible and available now that the yearly increase in crime has started, reports The Brooklyn Paper. The Brooklyn Paper also reports that Captain Tasso of the precinct that covers the park said that at this time of year they always deal with more crime.
What I'm trying to wrap my head around is if police know that more crime is going to happen around this time of year, why would they wait until after it starts happening to beef up patrols in the hot spots?
