Copycat Makeup: Whitney Port

Lehticia Leo
You may know Whitney Port from her previous appearances in the MTV reality series "The Hills" or from her new show "The City." Whitney Port always looks her best without looking like she is trying too hard, and often she looks as if she just rolled out of bed looking that good. Have you ever wondered why Whitney Port looks so wide eyed and refreshed all the time? She is a natural beauty, that much is true, but she gets a big boost from strategically applying her face makeup. Whitney Port does not have a makeup artist, all of the makeup that we see her with is applied with her own two hands. Whitney Port is an ordinary girl (who just happens to have her own reality series, and have a job at the exclusive Diane Von Furstenberg offices), so if she can manage to achieve an effortless looking face every morning, you can too.

Whitney always sports a sun kissed glow and practically flawless skin. She does this by using natural looking, but enhancing makeup. To get the natural look that Whitney Port is so famous for, the most important thing that you have to do is find a foundation and a concealer that match your skin tone and complexion. Please, do not try to fake a tan by choosing a foundation that is a few shades darker than your natural skin tone because it will be obvious that you are trying to fake a tan and you will look silly.

The best place to go to for foundation is a department store, because there you will be allowed to test drive the product before you purchase it. Department stores are the go to place to find celebrity makeup since products are of higher quality than drug stores. If you decide to go to a drug store such as Rite Aid or CVS to buy your foundation, beware. Sure, you will definitely get a bargain price for your foundation, but you will not be able to try it on before you buy. If you pick a color that isn't right for you, you will have to live with your mistake because the drug store will not take back a used product. To properly select a concealer, choose a shade that is two shades lighter than your natural skin tone. And the final secret to Whitney Port's sun kissed look is her blush. Choose a blush that has tones of pink but is a bit more on the orange side. This blush will give you a bronze, yet light sun kissed look.

Some drugstores like Walmart and CVS let you try and return if you are not happy with the product. Even mascara and foundation.
