Coral Calcium: Properties and Health Benefits of the Calcium Dietary Supplement
Can Coral Calcium Really Help to Prevent a Large Assortment of Diseases?
Coral calcium is a dietary supplement harvested from coral in Okinawa, Japan, and is said to be extremely rich in calcium and other trace minerals, and is much more effective than other calcium dietary supplements on the market today.
As the name implies, coral calcium is harvested from coral farms, either living on the ocean floor or from above ground sources, depending upon the company producing the coral calcium dietary supplements. As many coral reefs are dying and endangered, more companies are using ecological, safe means of harvesting coral calcium in an effort to preserve the living coral beds in the ocean.
As stated, coral calcium contains an excellent amount of calcium that is more readily absorbed into the the body than from other calcium supplements, as well as magnesium and an impressive amount of trace minerals, said to be responsible for many health benefits. In fact, Okinawa is one of the healthiest areas of Japan, partly due to the fact their drinking water also contains large amounts of calcium and trace minerals, and is ingested everyday. Disease is a rare occurrence in Okinawa.
However, it should also be noted that other factors play a prevalent role in the health of Okinawans, such as a daily helping of miso soup, also rich in vital nutrients and providing many health benefits. Some health advocates claim that coral calcium is a scam and claims of its healthy properties are unfounded.
Still, it cannot be denied that the large amount of calcium and healthful trace minerals found in coral calcium dietary supplements can help to prevent a large assortment of diseases and afflictions such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, kidney stones, arthritis, and much more, though it should not be considered a cure-all. One of the main reasons coral calcium is so popular in the health community is because it is said to enable you to absorb more calcium into the body as well as other trace minerals, whereas other calcium dietary supplements do not.
Some reputable companies producing coral calcium are Herbal Healer Academy, Nature's Benefit, and Nature's Purest, among others. A good health store or nutritionist should be able to suggest a good brand based on your needs.
