Corel Paint Shop Photo X1 Script for Sumi-E style batch processing file. Free download of a PSPScript File to make your pictures look as if hand painted. For introduction to scripts then see my video on Paint Shop Pro Scripts. The links are below after this article.

The accompanying photos are of different renderings of Sumi-E Pig. Download link is for SumiColorful. Scripts are very simple to edit. On the Script Toolbar, click the Edit Script button. Then simply check, or uncheck each of the steps displayed. During the execution of the script, dialog windows will automatically pop up for each succeeding operation Click OK in order to render without changing values.

Go to View > Toolbar > Script and check box to display Script toolbar. Customize Script toolbar by adding Clear Output Window or Single Step. View > Palettes > Script Output to see Script details when running a script.

Click the Start Script Recording button on the Script Toolbar. This will record your actions. Don't worry about making a mistake while recording. Do and Undo at will. There is no stop button for record. Click the Save button to stop recording. The undo actions while not be recorded if the Remove Undone Commands box is checked. Check Save Dialog Positions box and can still change values during execution of script with a pop-up dialog window for that step of the batch file. The script is defaulted to the Scripts-Restricted directory. For batch files then move script to the Scripts-Trusted directory.

To run the same script on a bunch of pictures at once then click onto File>Batch Process. Browse and select all images and add to the list. Check Use Script box and select the script that is within the Scripts-Trusted directory. Be sure to choose output file type and destination folder in the Save Options section. At the click of the Start button, the script actions will run for all images selected.

When recording a script, able to run other scripts! This is fantastic! Keep the scripts short with descriptive names such as Smooth1 or CoalMiner. These files are defaulted to run from the Restricted -Scripts directory. If try to save or open file a script from this Restricted - Scripts directory then the script will fail. Move script to the Trusted-Scripts directory if it involves file saving.

Able to undo or stop a script. Google more PSP scripts online to download!

Nice effects, but none look more than vaguely like sumi-e. Guess you might have to learn to draw after all...

PSPXI! - - - - XI installs protexis drm spyware that hangs system. I tried everything to get rid of it. 1st I had to Add Administrative Tools to the Start menu under programs by changing settings on the Taskbar & Menu. Click through the following to open the services window; START>PROGRAMS>ADMINSTRATIVE TOOLS>SERVICES where I stopped service & changed from Automatic to Disabled and then edited register to remove Hkey_Current_User, etc under 'Protexis, plus deleted PISIService.exe and PSIkey.dll in WINNT directory and still no can reinstalled PSPXI. I give up & going back to old version. SCRW PSPXI
