Corey Haim's Autopsy - Reports Serious Health Conditions. Also Vicodin, Valium, and Other Drugs in Apartment

Haims Cause of Death Will Depend Upon Toxcology Report

Corey Haim's autopsy shows that he had pulmonary congestion, an enlarged heart and water in his lungs. This was not determined to be the cause of his death reports the L.A. County Coroner's Office. As we have heard sadly heard too many times last few months, the cause of death will not be determined until the toxicology tests are back.

This is shades of Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Casey Johnson, Brittany Murphy, Andrew Blosil, Andrew Koenig, and too many others in such a short period of time.

Judy Haim, Corey's mother was informed of the findings of the autopsy today, reports RadarOnline. These conditions do coincide with the symptoms that Judy Haim reported her son experiencing right before he died.

Vicodin, Valium, Soma, and haloperidol were found in the apartment during the investigation of Haim's death. The drugs were all prescribed for Corey by a predominate L.A. psychiatrist, reports TMZ.

Vicodin is a narcotic pain killer and is usually not prescribed for any other reason than to relieve pain. Valium is a tranquilizer that is also prescribed as a muscle relaxer at times. Soma is a muscle relaxer and haloperidol is an anti-psychotic medication. Psychiatrist do not normally prescribe narcotic pain medication. The prescriptions were written just days before Haim's death.

Conflicting reports from the original police report are coming from those closest to Haim. Corey Haim's died from an "accidental drug overdose" is what the police reported just hours after his death. Reports from those close to Corey Haim say he was doing well in his recovery from drugs.

Three of the drugs, Vicodin, valium, and soma can all suppress the repertory system, this coupled with water in the lungs and enlarged heart may be what the final outcome of the report of Corey Haim's cause of death. This again will only be known for sure once the toxicology test is back.

Corey Feldman has been speaking up about his long time friend, he made an appearance on Larry and asked that we not jump the gun at the cause of his friend's death. Although, Feldman's first blog writing after he heard of his friend's death, looked as if he, himself jumped the gun. He wrote that Haim was a "tortured soul" and "may he finally find peace." This is something usually said about someone who dies a tragic death from drugs or suicide.

"He was a tortured soul and may he finally find peace" is not something you say about a person that died from an illness or even an accident. I am not throwing stones at Corey Feldman, he and the rest of us who knew anything about Haim's history, just jumped to that conclusion. It is a reasonable assumption, especially since the last time we saw Haim publicly was on "The Two Corey's" and that show didn't get to season 3 because of his drug use.

Good reporting. Respiratory illness can kill a person without medication being involved. Prescription medications should always be taken strictly according to directions. It makes me wonder whether some Doctors are over-prescribing or not warning patients about taking a mix of drugs. Whatever the circumstances, any accidental death from mixing drugs is one too many.

You would think that especially after the death of Michael Jackson, MDs would exercise greater caution in what they prescribe to people - especially to addicted celebrities. Sad.... so young.
