Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa Named a "Best Buy School"

July 1, 2009 - Mount Vernon, Iowa - The 2010 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges has named Cornell College a "Top Financial Find" and one of the "44 Best Buy Schools."

The Fiske Guide to Colleges defines a "Best Buy School" as one that offers top-notch academic offerings and compares the academic offerings and lifestyle information to the cost of attendance. Schools on the list are those in which Fiske researchers found to offer the remarkable educational opportunities and at a modest price.

Cornell College has also been recognized as a top school for offering an affordable liberal arts education by several college ranking guides. U.S. News and World Report's magazine selected Cornell College as one of their top tier liberal arts colleges and featured the college as "Schools to Watch" and "Great Schools, Great Prices." Forbes magazine also ranked Cornell College at number 21 in the best liberal arts college in the nation. Other notable recognition has come from The Princeton Review's Best 368 Colleges, a College of Distinction and on of the 40 Colleges That Change Lives.

Cornell College is a private, four year liberal arts college that offers students an opportunity to enhance their education in the classroom, on campus and around the world. Cornell College is situated on a hilltop overlooking the scenic and historic town of Mount Vernon, Iowa. Originally founded in 1853, by Methodist minister George Bryant Bowman.
