Cornell College is a private, four year liberal arts college that offers students an opportunity to enhance their education in the classroom, on campus and around the world. Students at Cornell College can take courses that might involve studying architecture in Greece or conducting research in the Bahamas.
Students enjoy a unique college experience at Cornell College with their unique One-Course-At-A-Time structure. Students can fully immerse themselves into one subject for three and a half weeks. This allows students the rare opportunity to fully devote their time to a single subject instead of having to juggle several classes at a time.
The One-Course-At-A-Time structure also means that Cornell College professors only teach one course at a time which gives students more access to them to help gain an even better understanding of the subject. Unlike other colleges, where professors are teaching multiple courses and students have a difficult time getting one-on-one time with their professor. The course structure at Cornell College allows professors to get to know students and understand their unique strengths, interests and goals.
Cornell College is situated on a hilltop overlooking the scenic and historic town of Mount Vernon, Iowa. Originally founded in 1853, by Methodist minister George Bryant Bowman.
