Kiwanis Club of Vinton County will host a cornhole tournament during the VCHS Athletic Boosters 4th of July Celebration. The cost to enter is $20 per team, payable at the south gate entrance of the festival at 4:45 p.m. July 4.

The tournament will begin at 5 p.m. The winning teams will be awarded a Viking themed cornhole set. For additional information email vckiwanis@yahoo.com or call 541-1470. Proceeds benefit future youth and community projects in Vinton County

The Kiwanis Club of Vinton County hosted a fundraiser corn hole tournament May 9 at the VFW Post #5299 in McArthur. Club members organized the tournament to raise funds for upcoming community improvement and youth centered events. A Kiwanis Kidfest is being planned for just prior to the school year, and will feature free activities and school supplies for Vinton County youth. The winners of the tournament were a father-daughter team from Circleville.

Brook Francis is an 11 year old corn bag throwing phenom, who began participation in the popular backyard pastime two years ago. Brook, and her father, Gary recently placed second in a large all Ohio tournament held at The Ohio State University. Earning second place honors at the Kiwanis corn hole tourney were Ted Dillon and Dale Dass. Dusty Ward and Ryan Caudill placed third, and were the first place winners at the fall Kiwanis sponsored corn hole tournament in 2008.

The Kiwanis Club of Vinton County is hosted a fundraiser corn hole tournament on Saturday, August 23. The tournament began at noon at the Eagles picnic ground located at 66211 Bethel Road inNew Plymouth. Registration ended at noon, with a fee of $25 per team charged to enter. Food, soft drinks, and beer will be sold during the event. No coolers or outside food are permitted. Prizes included a hand made cornhole board an t-shirts for the first place team.

The second place team will receive t-shirts, and the return of their entry fee. The Kiwanis Club of Vinton County used the funds raised to support community projects, and youth development initiatives. Current club projects include sponsorship of a 4-H leadership year long project, and a "Back-Packs for Kids" healthy snacks and school supplies program for students in the three local elementary schools in the district.

    nice tournament, from the article you said above i can feel and imagine how crowd and many participant that get into the tournament and create a friendly situation.
