The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has released the autopsy and its final conclusion of what killed Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack. The coroner determined that Simon Monjack died from acute pneumonia and severe anemia, two of the same things that killed his wife, actress Brittany Murphy, in December last year.

Simon Monjack was screenwriter originally from England. He was found dead on May 23rd by Brittany Murphy's mother in Simon and Brittany's bedroom. Simon Monjack found his wife Brittany in their bathroom unconscious and not breathing. Sharon Murphy's heartbreaking 911 call was later released showing she and Monjack tried desperately to save her life before paramedics arrived.

The Coroner said that just like Brittany Murphy Simon Monjack had been trying to self medicate himself in the days leading up to his death and had not seen a Doctor for pneumonia. He also said that while some prescription drugs were found in his system, it was not enough to have contributed to his death.

Police officials also released their final report stating no illegal drugs were found in Monjack's home after they arrived.

Sharon Murphy said in a statement toTMZ, "I am still in shock and mourning over the deaths of my daughter Brittany and son-in-law Simon. It is with great relief that Simon's preliminary autopsy findings have been released, so the media speculations can stop... As I was sure of, just like my daughter Brittany, there was no kind of drug overdose."

Simon Monjack was laid to rest beside his wife at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California on May 27th.

Brittany Murphy was found dead December 20th 2009. The final coroner's report, released in February, stated that she had "elevated levels" of Vicodin and drugs from over-the-counter cold medicine in her system, but no illegal substances. Her death was ruled an accident, but preventable.

Friends and family of Simon Monjack said following Brittany's death his physical and mental health declined rapidly. Many said he became a shut-in and would only speak to Murphy's mother Sharon.

Monjack admitted on "The Today Show" in January that he suffered a minor heart attack weeks before his wife died. He was also advised by his Doctor that he need a heart bypass immediately to prevent another heart attack, but he pushed it off saying he wanted to wait until September so he could dedicate an Art scholarship in his wife's name.

But many close to Monjack said they think he gave up on life after his wife's death and died of a broken heart.
