Corporate Christmas Gifts: What to Give Your Employees

Christi Bowers
It isn't easy to come up with Christmas gift ideas, even if you know the recipient very well. If you are the boss or owner of a company, and you are looking to purchase some type of gift for your employees, this task is even more difficult. This article will give you ideas for five corporate gifts for companies to give to staff members during the holidays.

1. Gym membership. A gym or fitness club membership can be purchased at any local fitness club. Gold's gym is always a good option. Some of the newer Gold's Gym locations have a theatre inside where one can run on the treadmill or exercise on the bike while watching a movie. This is a great idea for a corporate Christmas gift for many reasons. First, a fit employee will be better equipped to handle on the job stresses and will increase productivity. Second, the gift will last for an entire year, reminding the employee over and over what the company has done for him or her. The price of an adult gym membership runs about $400 or $500, depending on the franchise. If the company gets a corporate plan, the cost will be less per membership.

2. Gifty Box. The Gifty Box is an experience gift that you create on the website. You can purchase a gifty box that has two tickets to a wine tasting tour, or a gift certificate to a spa. The gift can be individualized and personalized to fit each person, or you can give everyone in the company the same experience. This gift is nice because it allows the staff member or employee the chance to do something that they might not otherwise have done on their own, or might not have been able to afford. The boxes are about $60.

3. Personalized pen and pencil set. The reason this is an excellent gift idea is because the personalization shows that the company took an extra step beyond just a bulk gift purchased for everyone. The company had to take some time to get each person's name engraved on the pen. There are many places you can order gift sets of pens and pencils. If pens aren't your idea of what to purchase, other personalized gifts would be just as special. For example, you could purchase a personalized business card holder for the employee to put her business cards in. These gifts can be purchased in bulk, but you have to take time to separately enter the name of each employee on the order for the personalization. Such gift sets will range from $20 to $100, depending on your choice of company.

4. Gift baskets. The gift basket is usually a successful gift. It makes the employees happy. In a time where budgets run tight, giving employees food can be a wise choice. If the gift basket has cheeses and jams, for instance, this will save the family from having to purchase these items over the holidays. Or, perhaps the jams are a special treat that otherwise could not have been afforded. Gift baskets can be purchased in bulk from many different websites. The price ranges from $20 to $100 or more.

5. If you send your employees on frequent business trips, a nice travel bag is the perfect corporate gift. The price ranges anywhere from $50 to $500, depending on the quality and material of the bag. A leather bag will cost more, for instance. The reason this gift is so wonderful is that it is useful, and will be used over and over again. Each time the employee uses the bag, he or she will be reminded of your kindness during the Christmas season. Travel bags can be ordered from many different online websites, and can be ordered in large quantities from these websites.
