I love to see innocence
I think, as I see the little girl
sitting in the shopping cart.
She grins at me, then hides her face.
Her mother takes away the candy bar
that was taken off the shelf
when she was not looking.
Innocent, my hind end.
Yet, somehow, not quite guilty either.
