Cortni - 'The After Party' Review

Artist Cortni is a very attractive 18 year old young woman with a smile that can light up a room. Her debut release 'The After Party' is now out through New Day Distribution and also includes the talents of famed producer Tre' Corley.

Although Cortni grew up writing and performing in her family's Southern Gospel group, The Bilderbacks, her new album is filled with what's always been in her heart, up-tempo pop/ dance music.

Cortni says that she wants to use her God given talents to, "start a revolution." Adding that, "On The After Party, I hope that many of the songs will challenge the way we think."

She carries through with that thought right from the first track, "Trophy Man", a beat pumping dance number that deals with the need to be strong in our faith and to not get caught up in the unimportant glittery trappings of life.

The title track, "The After Party", is another up-tempo song that will get you up and dancing along to its pop/dance beats.

"Love Is Always Waiting" is a nice slower, vocals driven track, with a bit of an R&B sound that lets Cortni's vocals talents shine brightly. The song talks about when you reach that point in your life where things are all going wrong and you feel like you have nowhere to turn, that love (God) is there waiting for you.

The last two tracks I want to mention are the mid-tempo songs; "Dream Big" that talks about not limiting yourself and "Change Me" a passionate vocals filled track about God's grace and letting go, committing totally to His will.

After listening to Cortni's 'The After Party' I can tell you that she has an inner beauty and desire to serve the Lord that shines brightly in her music.
