Cosmetic Review: Urban Decay Naked Palette

Rachel Bogart
One of my favorite brands is Urban Decay, a cosmetics company that represents ethical standards. Urban Decay has a variety of different products, many of which are vegan too. Out of all their products, their eyeshadows are my favorite. I simply can't get enough of them. I'm constantly collecting the next new Urban Decay eyeshadow, no matter what shade, color, or finish it is. Needless to say Urban Decay is known for their cutting edge cosmetics, which led me to their most popular product, the Naked Palette.

Even though I own a ton of Urban Decay eyeshadows, it's obvious that you can't always wear blue, green, purple, or pink. Those are definitely colors for a night out on the town or at a nightclub. I absolutely love my matte and neutral colored eyeshadows since I can easily wear them anywhere, including work. Before debuting the Naked Palette, Urban Decay sold only a few neutral eyeshadows, and many of them were packed with a bit too much glitter for the average work day. However, it was recently that they came out with the Urban Decay Naked Palette. As soon as I saw this beautiful array of neutral colors directly from Urban Decay (in addition to a travel size primer potion and two neutral eyeliners), I knew I had to have it. And I have to admit, it was the best $44 I have ever spent.

As soon as I saw the Urban Decay Naked Palette on the Urban Decay website, I purchased it. When it came in the mail I was so excited. I opened up the Naked Palette and inside were twelve gorgeous neutral colors ranging from a pale brown to a shimmery charcoal. As previously mentioned, the makeup kit also came with two eyeliners, one in brown and one in black. It also came with my favorite Urban Decay product, the primer potion. Right then I knew I had to try it out.

I washed my face and carefully put on the primer potion using the wand and then rubbing it in on my eyelids (this step is extremely important). I didn't know which color to try first, but I decided to go with "Buck," a lovely matte brown. Like most girls, I expect a lot from Urban Decay. They're known for high quality products and without saying the Naked Palette did not disappoint whatsoever. While "Buck" is my new favorite color, I love all the colors in the Naked Palette. They go on extremely smoothly and effortlessly too. All the colors go well together and you can definitely apply more than one at any given time. They blend and layer so well.

Over all, I would rate the $44 Urban Decay Naked Palette a 5/5. It's hands down Urban Decay's best product ever (even better than the primer potion because it comes with the primer potion and two additional eyeliners). All the eyeshadows are a sure bet for any occasion. In addition to these reasons, the top reason why I love the Urban Decay Naked Palette is because you get so many colors for such a great price. It definitely beats dropping $20 or so on one eyeshadow. While the Naked Palette is currently sold out at Urban Decay's website, they promise they are making more and you can sign up for the wait list. If you simply can't wait, you can find this product for a bit over $44 at eBay.
