At the Cosmetic Surgery Center of North Dallas, approximately 70% of the patients are women and 30% are men. This is an era in which people are conscious of their health and appearance and want to look as good as they feel.
Today, men and women feel the competition in their work environment
and want to shape a positive image for themselves. While ethical cosmetic surgeons will not guarantee patients that if a person has his face rejuvenated, it win save a marriage or give them a promotion, but there are proven psychological advantages say practitioners.
According to Dr. James H. Fowler, director of the Cosmetic Surgery Center of North Dallas, in interviewing and educating patients before the surgery, finds that people who already feel good about themselves benefit the most from a correction.
He also says that smoking, drinking, excessive weight gain and loss, poor nutrition, sun exposure, lack of sleep, worrying, not cleaning one's skin, lack of water and sleeping improperly with your face on the pillow add to the aging process. Eyelid and nose surgery are two of the most popular corrective measures. For eyelid surgery, the fatty tissue is removed from the upper or lower eyelids giving the appearance of five to10 years younger. The nose is usually operated on to improve breathing as well as to reshape the nose to complement the face.
Facelifts are also a popular form of image improvement. This is accomplished by tightening of fatty tissues. To remove wrinkles resulting in a surgery that can last eight to 10 years if the patient follows good skin-care habits.
Collagen injection is a procedure to reduce wrinkles without having surgery. This involves injections of collagen to help smooth out the face. Other procedures include cheek and chin implants to complement the patient's facial features.
A more recent technique in the field of cosmetic surgery is liposuction, the removal of fat cells under the skin at various points of the body. This procedure removes fat without showing a major weight loss. This surgery is for those people who find it difficult to lose weight in isolated areas of their body.
Dr. Fowler is an accomplished cosmetic surgeon selected in Texas to use the high-tech computer imaging system, that gives patients a realistic idea of what can be accomplished before the actual cosmetic surgery is performed. This is considered a high tech, but conservative approach, and nothing is done on the screen which cannot be performed surgically.
